Counihan Gallery

The Counihan Gallery opened in 1999. We are named in honour of the Australian artist and activist Noel Counihan (1913-1986), who was a champion of social justice and a vocal supporter of free speech. Our exhibition program reflects our commitment to political activation, sustainability, and creative expression.

Penny’s Bandroom

Penny’s has long been a staple pub of Brunswick - live music, a huge beer garden and a familiar atmosphere. Japanese influences meld with our history as a grungy rock’n’roll pub, permeating through our overall feel, fit-out and menu. We’re cosy but cool. Edgy but approachable. Come check us out.

Siteworks

Brunswick Skate Park

Brunswick Skate Park also referred to as Clifton Park, is located off Victoria Street, Brunswick and features a deep concrete clover-shaped skate bowl with steel coping and a street course laced with ledges, a euro gap, quarter pipe and banks.

Gilpin Park

Located on Albert Street and a 12 minute walk west from the corner of Sydney Road, Gilpin Park offers a natural bush setting criss-crossed by granitic pathways. It is a popular dog walking and social park. A playground in the north east has table tennis tables, picnic and barbecues facilities. Gilpin Park is a general admission picnic-style (no seats) venue. BYO picnic blanket or ground covering. Due to current restrictions, dancing is unfortunately not permitted but limited roaming and standing is allowed. Patrons are welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages. Cutlery, plates and other containers are permitted however NO GLASS will be allowed on site. BYO alcohol is not permitted on site, and random bag checks will be conducted upon entry. We thank you for your understanding. There is a dedicated sensory friendly chill out area for those who require access to a quiet space in order to enjoy their time at the venue. There are no pass outs but there is a dedicated smoking area identified by signage within the venue.
